Saturday was the Marine Ball.
So today we celebrated his birthday. First birthdays are, I think, supposed to be a big deal. Due to my laziness, Brandon's agoraphobia, and a desire to keep the lid on birthday parties as long as possible, we decided to keep things low key.
I did bake a cake, but we didn't exactly wrap his presents. Joseph, however, was perfectly happy. And he's the one that counts, right?
Happy Birthday, Joseph!

Your a woman after my own heart Ashley.
So I have some friends' blogs that have discussed their babies' first birthdays and the celebrations that went along with it and the stress. There were like a thousand other kids and themes and banners and presents and face painting and roller coasters and whatever. At first I thought there was something wrong with me because all I thought was "Uh, your kid SO doesn't even know what's going on." Thank you for being real life.
A perfectly appropriate first birthday. Happy Birthday Joseph!!
Happy birthday to Joseph!
Love the picture with the sisters. The one on the right looks like trouble on the hoof.
I agree; the kid is clueLESS for the first couple of years, and I suggest they be maintained that way for as long as possible. However, Brandon, this does not apply to wives. We have learned by sad experience, that it is the nature of most men...
Happy birthday to Joseph!! It looks like it was the perfect celebration...Chocolate cake makes most things pretty perfect!
